Project-Based Teaching and Collaboration with Practice
The research colloquia at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences (winter 2016/17, 2017/18, 2021/22) were designed as research-based learning: students carried out their own empirical projects in groups, from the research question to the final presentation. In winter 2017/18 the colloquium was run in cooperation with the publisher Ernst Klett Verlag. It used eye-tracking to study design questions in primary-school textbooks: the distribution of picture and text information, and the effect of syllable-based reading support on reading speed and comprehension.
