This website is my personal homepage. Leipzig University is responsible for any data processing carried out by the university.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH (WEB.DE), Karlsruhe branch, Brauerstr. 48, 76135 Karlsruhe, Germany. When you visit the website, the server automatically stores technical information in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer URL). This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. 3. Cookies
This website does not use cookies for statistics, marketing or external services, so a cookie banner is not required. At most, technically necessary cookies are set, e.g. to remember your language choice (German/English). The legal basis is Section 25(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Visitor statistics (WP Statistics)
To analyse page views, I use the WordPress plugin “WP Statistics”. The analysis takes place exclusively on the server of this website. No data is transferred to third parties and no cookies are set. The data collected includes the pages visited, date and time, referrer URL, and browser and device type. IP addresses are stored only in anonymised or encrypted (hashed) form, so that no conclusions can be drawn about individual persons. An approximate region of origin may be determined using a database stored locally on the server.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to obtain an overview of how my website is used and to improve it. You may object to this processing at any time, for example via the contact details above.
5. Fonts
The fonts used on this website are loaded locally from this server or from your own device. No connection is made to third-party servers (e.g. Google).
6. Links to external profiles
This website contains links to external services (e.g. Google Scholar, ResearchGate, ORCID, OSF, Loop, Bluesky, Instagram). These are simple links. No data is transferred to these services when you visit this website. Only when you click on a link does the privacy policy of the respective provider apply.
7. Contact by email
If you send me an email, I process your details (email address, content of the message) solely to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte).
